Running back Quinton Ganther, who was arrested over the July 4 weekend on suspicion of DUI, had an arraignment hearing in Sacramento on Wednesday. He is facing two counts of DUI, a misdemeanor.
The arraignment was continued until Sept. 1, and court records indicate Ganther retained counsel in the case.
Ganther signed with the Seahawks this offseason after Washington did not tender him an offer to make him a restricted free agent. He is competing for a roster spot as a back-up running back and special-teams cog.
I think as far as the Seahawks running game goes it’s going to be a once man show in Justin Forsett. From a fantasy stand point I think Forsett has the potential to be a great value (sleeper) pick in rounds 7-9 and he might end up performing like a top 1 or 2 back this year.
Actor Gary Collins has been sentenced to 120 days in prison after pleading no contest to charges of driving under the influence.
The TV star was arrested in Montecito, Calif., in late January after police spotted him driving a motor home erratically.
The 70-year-old was found to be almost four times over the legal alcohol limit and charged with driving under the influence.
Collins entered a no contest plea at a hearing at California’s Santa Barbara Superior Court on Monday, with the judge ordering him to spend 120 days behind bars.
He will also have his vehicle impounded and his license suspended for three years.
Collins can now apply to have his jail sentence reduced to house arrest with an electronic monitoring device, according to Radar Online.
All in all, an utter failure for his California DUI Lawyer.
A San Diego Chargers football player accused of driving drunk for the second time in a little over two years pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a pair of misdemeanor charges.
Vincent Terrell Jackson, 25, had his pleas to DUI and having a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent entered via fax by his lawyer, G. Cole Casey.
Jackson, a starting wide receiver, was convicted of the same charges in October 2006. He was on probation at the time of his latest arrest, which occurred on Jan. 6.
The fourth-year pro from the University of Northern Colorado was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. that day while driving eastbound on Highway 52 in a 2008 GMC Sierra.
Officer Brad Baehr of the California Highway Patrol said Jackson agreed to a blood test. He was released on $12,500 bail.
A.J. Smith, the Chargers’ general manager, expressed disappointment at the arrest, but Jackson played in the next game, a playoff loss at Pittsburgh.
He caught 59 passes for 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

Lindsay Lohan says that her time in alcohol rehabilitation has helped her turn her life around. She said, “I’m thankful for what I can take out of it. Now I feel clear.”
Lohan entered a rehab facility three times during 2007; in January to “take care” of her health, in May after an arrest for drunk driving in LA and again in August after another drunk driving episode. She left an alcohol and drug awareness program in October.
Lohan cites being “so alone” as the reason for clubbing as much as she did, and for its downward impact on her life.
In July 2007 Lindsay Lohan was arrested for California DUI in LA after she jumped behind the wheel of an SUV and chased her assistant in a wild car chase following a late-night private party. The owner of the SUV and two passengers have filed charges of assault and battery against the actress over the event.
According to paperwork filed, Lohan and her assistant Taryn were arguing at the party. Taryn’s boyfriend, Dan, was behind the wheel of Dante Nigre’s 2004 Yukon Denali. He left the SUV to talk to Taryn, but she drove off and Lohan jumped into the driver’s seat in pursuit. Ronnie Blake and Jakon Sutter were in the back seat of the Denali and Nigre was in the passenger seat. At one point Blake managed to get out of the vehicle but Lohan accelerated and ran over his foot. She reportedly answered any pleas to stop with ‘hostile wrath’.
Lohan raced down Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway, running stop signs and red lights, before coming to a stop in the parking lot of the Santa Monica Police Department. She was arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles after failing a field sobriety test. At the time Lohan denied driving the SUV, claiming Sutter was behind the wheel.
